Strive for a healthy pH Level - First steps to better health
One of the first steps I took towards better health began by helping my body maintain a healthy pH level. I learned about this practice while traveling to an area near one of the blue zones. I learned that we should all strive to keep a good pH level. This is one of the things I learned when I asked a health enthusiast in Costa Rica if sugar feeds cancer. He said, “Not exactly, but your body’s pH level might lean towards a more acidic level which favors the growth of cancer”. So, do I occasionally eat a cookie? Yes. Do I eat a hamburger now and then? Yes. I try to eat as healthy as possible most of the time and limit sugar and highly processed food. Our bodies go through a complicated process to make sure our blood pH stays balanced. All we must do is eat a balanced diet, and limit sugary carbs and processed food as much as possible to support our body’s natural processes. One way I watch my progress is by monitoring the pH urine level with pH strips. It helps me know how I’m doing. Try it if you can.
