Rebound to better health!

When I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, the statistics for survival didn’t look so great. When I decided, I was going to fight to live, I studied so many different avenues of treatment in addition to the front-line treatments (surgery/chemo) which I was taking. Rebounding was one of those.

After studying the overwhelming benefits, I went ahead and started rebounding in the spring of 2018 for short workouts every day. It really helped with balance and also with the bone pain I had from chemo treatments. My overall wellness improved because it just made me feel like I was actually accomplishing something normal, like working out. I started bouncing carefully while holding on to a tall dresser in my closet. I only did 2 minutes and then worked up to 10 minutes over a few months. I was amazed at how much better my balance was. So, this low-impact exercise not only got me in better shape, and also boosted my mood. When I started doing it for longer periods, I moved it out of my large closet. I ordered a trampoline online that had a bar to hold on to. I didn’t want to fall and injure myself. I kept studying the benefits of rebounding and really was surprised at the benefits.

In the book, A Guide to Rebounding Aerobics (Avery 1989) it says that there are at least thirty health advantages to rebounding and that it activates your lymphatic system, which is an integral part of your toxin removal system. Which boosts your immune system.

Please consider starting to rebound on a mini-tramp.  I’m recommending you use the tighter mat because I had better control of my movement. I borrowed one when I started and it had a bungee cord. One of those cords snapped while I was jumping. So I now stick with the metal spring covered by a pad. I’ve included a link to the kind I’m talking about that I felt safe on.

Good luck with your health and I hope you try rebounding.
