Eat a salad every day!

In the summer of 2018, I traveled to one of the Blue Zones—areas recognized by National Geographic where people often live to be 100 without major illnesses. During my visit, I learned valuable insights about preventing cancer and supporting overall health. One of the most important lessons was the power of a healthy diet rich in fresh vegetables and fruits, especially those in a variety of vibrant colors.

I believe doctors should be writing prescriptions for a daily salad! If you find yourself eating out often, take that opportunity to order a salad. Be mindful of dressings—vinegar and olive oil are great choices that leave you feeling full and satisfied, without the extra processed ingredients.

Today, I had a wonderful spinach salad at home for lunch. I’ve made it a point to choose hearty, nutrient-packed salads instead of processed or white bread options. While it might seem small, this daily habit has made a huge difference in how I feel. I wish I had started this journey earlier, but I’m committed to nourishing my body now and hope to keep it up for the next 30 years or more! Please click on the book below for awesome salad recipes.
